Description
Beyond individual racks and shelves, MEK engineers space-optimizing storage systems — Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) compact racking and Mobile Racking — for warehouses that need to maximize density within a fixed footprint.
These systems trade standard aisle widths for significantly higher storage density, and are typically specified for high-throughput or space-constrained facilities.
Available options
- VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) Compact Racking — reduces aisle width by a minimum of 40% versus conventional forklifts while retaining 100% product selectivity; available in welded and bolted truss configurations
- Mobile Racking — single/multi-bay racking mounted on mobile stands, moved via rail guidance with chain and pulleys so only the aisle in use needs to be open
- Warehouse Racking (general) — MEK's broader racking product line for facility-wide storage design
Applications
- VNA: requires a special narrow-aisle forklift; suited to warehouses with net height above 8m and high pick frequency
- Mobile racking: saves up to 90% of aisle space versus conventional racking while keeping every load unit directly accessible
- Custom engineering for depth, height and configuration per site
- High-throughput logistics and storage centers needing dense, high-selectivity storage (VNA)
- Facilities with medium quantities of goods and low access frequency, where space is at a premium (Mobile Racking)
- New and existing warehouses — VNA installation in existing buildings is possible subject to floor-flatness requirements
Benefits
- VNA can cut aisle space requirements while retaining full pallet selectivity
- Mobile racking guarantees security of stored material while maximizing usable floor space
- MEK provides site assessments to determine feasibility for existing buildings
