Switchgear
An engineering partner, not a reseller
A distribution panel built off a generic spec sheet is a gamble on a site you haven't accounted for. We'd rather not gamble. MEK manufactures and supplies switchgear and electrical distribution panels for commercial and industrial projects across Uganda, drawing on manufacturing know-how that goes back generations. From main distribution boards to custom motor control panels, we act more like an engineering partner than a reseller. MEP contractors, consultants, and developers come to us with load requirements and site conditions, and we build to that, not to a catalogue.

Sub-Main Distribution Boards
Indoor Type DB Panels handle the sub-main level of a site's power distribution — the compact panels that sit downstream of the Main Distribution Panel and feed final circuits within a building.

Electrical Solutions Built Around Your Project
No two sites carry the same load, run under the same conditions, or need to meet the same standards. Send us your project specs, drawings, single-line diagrams, or BOQ, and we'll recommend or build the right panel, whether that's one distribution board or a full electrical package for a new development.

Industries We Serve
Why MEK Uganda?
Design and engineering happen in-house; on every panel we build, nothing's outsourced or guessed at. Panels are built to perform under the actual conditions your site throws at them, not lab conditions. We engineer to your load calculations, your drawings, your standards, not a standard template. Support runs from the first spec conversation through installation and beyond. There's a Uganda-based team you can actually reach for quotes or site questions. And because we manufacture directly, pricing stays competitive for contractors working at real project scale.

Ask on WhatsAppWhat is the difference between an MDP and an MCC panel?
An MDP (Main Distribution Panel) receives and distributes power across a facility. An MCC (Motor Control Center) is built specifically to start, protect, and monitor motors, and it usually sits downstream of the MDP.
Can MEK build a custom electrical panel to my project's specifications?
Yes, send drawings, load calculations, or a BOQ, and we'll recommend or engineer the right panel for your project.
Do you supply ATS panels for backup power switching?
Yes, Automatic Transfer Switch panels that switch a site between mains and generator power automatically.
Can MEK work directly with MEP contractors and consultants?
Yes, this is a big part of what we do: project-specific electrical panel work alongside MEP contractors, consultants, and developers.
What information do you need to quote a distribution board?
A single-line diagram, load list, or even a general description gets us started. We'll follow up with any technical questions from there.
Do you offer outdoor-rated electrical enclosures?
Yes, talk to us about the ingress protection (IP) rating your project actually needs, and we'll match an enclosure to it.
