Low Voltage Panels

The MEK Low Voltage Panel is a precision CNC-made, galvanised and powder-coated IP65 steel switchboard that receives, protects and distributes low-voltage power across industrial and commercial sites. It is built to each project’s load schedule.

Delivery across Uganda and to all East and Central African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan and the DR Congo.

Description

The MEK Low Voltage (LV) Panel, also called an LV switchboard or LT panel, takes incoming power from the utility, a generator or a solar plant and distributes it safely to the loads on site. Each panel is built to the project’s single-line diagram, with incomers, outgoing feeders, protection and metering selected for the site’s fault level and load. MEK LV panels are used in factories, commercial complexes, high-rise buildings and renewable energy plants, and are available from MEK Uganda.

Key Features

  • Incomers and outgoing feeders arranged to the customer’s single-line diagram
  • Designed to handle high fault levels and voltage fluctuations
  • Monitoring and protection devices selected for each feeder
  • Precision CNC-manufactured enclosure for accurate cutouts, cable entries and a consistent fit
  • Galvanised steel base material with a powder-coated finish for long-term corrosion resistance
  • IP65-rated enclosure up to 2.0 mm thick, with a lockable door
  • Completely customisable to the project’s ratings, layout and cable entry

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a low voltage panel?

A low voltage panel is a switchboard that receives power at low voltage and distributes it to circuits and sub-panels through protective devices such as circuit breakers. It protects people and equipment from overloads and short circuits.

What is the difference between an LV panel and a distribution board?

An LV panel usually sits near the start of the system and handles the site’s main incoming power and large feeders. Distribution boards sit further downstream and feed final circuits such as lighting and sockets.

Can MEK build an LV panel to my drawings?

Yes. Send your single-line diagram or load list to MEK Uganda. The team also offers AutoCAD drawing and load calculation support.

Do you deliver outside Uganda?

Yes. MEK Uganda delivers across Uganda and to all East and Central African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan and the DR Congo.
