Description
The MEK Main Distribution Board, also called an MDB or main distribution panel (MDP), sits at the head of a building’s electrical system. It receives power from the utility supply or a generator and distributes it downstream to sub-main distribution boards and large loads. Each MDB is designed for the site’s full electrical load, with circuit breakers and protective devices that guard every outgoing circuit against overload and short circuit. MDBs from MEK Uganda are built for industrial plants, commercial buildings, housing projects and substations.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a main distribution board do?
It is the first panel after the incoming supply. It splits that supply into outgoing circuits that feed sub-main boards and large equipment, and protects each circuit with a breaker.
What is the difference between an MDB and a sub-main distribution board?
The MDB handles the whole site’s incoming power. Sub-main boards sit downstream of it and feed final circuits within a floor or area.
Can an MDB take both utility and generator supply?
Yes. Pair it with an MEK ATS panel so the load switches to the generator automatically during a power cut.
Do you deliver outside Uganda?
Yes. MEK Uganda delivers across Uganda and to all East and Central African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan and the DR Congo.
